Visualisation Lab

Our Visualisation Lab is equipped with advanced data capture, processing, and visualisation technologies that support research, teaching, and industry engagement across the built environment. The Lab’s capabilities include terrestrial and handheld 3D laser scanners, a fleet of drones including the DJI Neo 2, Mavic Pro, and Matrice 350 RTK, and high-fidelity Virtual Reality and Mixed Reality systems including the Meta Quest 3, HTC Vive Pro 2, and Varjo XR-4. The Lab also features an immersive 180-inch, 33-megapixel 4K screen wall for large-scale data visualisation, collaborative design review, and interactive simulation.

Construction Robotics Lab

Our Construction Robotics Lab houses a suite of robotic platforms for advancing automation, human–robot collaboration, and robotic construction research. The Lab includes two UR10e collaborative robotic arms and two MiR100 autonomous mobile robots, providing flexible and human-safe platforms for investigating human–robot interaction and collaborative construction tasks such as scaffold assembly. It also features an Australian-first multi-robot system for structural assembly, comprising a heavy-duty ABB industrial robot mounted on a linear rail and a 3-metre-radius turntable. This system is capable of autonomously handling and assembling full-scale timber and light-gauge steel structures, enabling research into the next generation of automated construction processes.
